ABOUT US

BiosearLab is a Community Interest Company (CIC) based at the University of East London (UEL).

BiosearLab utilises the laboratory facilities of UEL's Bioscience department to carry out basic research,. methodological validations and epidemiological surveys that are of interest and of benefit to health service providers, university research teams and community based organisations.

BiosearLab also offers workplace opportunities for UEL students by engaging them in the projects that BiosearLab delivers.
This unique synergy between the knowhow of academics, clinicians and practitioners, the available research facilities and the desire of advanced learners to develop their professional skills offers the opportunity to accomplish projects that could not easily be initiated through normal funding mechanisms.

BiosearLab welcomes suggestions for research projects and will discuss with the proposers mechanisms to support the work to be carried out.

Dr. Stefano Casalotti, director and founder of BiosearLab, has 30 years experience of biomedical science research and of academia. After obtaining his PhD at Imperial College London he has worked, at Georgetown University (USA), Mahidol University (Thailand) University College London, Birkbeck and University of East London (UK). He has coordinated institutional and international projects and has a thorough understanding of the needs of the research communities, clinical provision, community health services and of the developmental needs for biomedical scientists..
